In order to ensure that our managers have all of the tools, information and insight they need to succeed in reaching their professional goals within our organization, we have created Morton's University. Established in 2001, and located in Chicago, this six-day, classroom-style training program is attended by all new and existing Morton's managers.
Within this dynamic setting, you will learn everything you need to know about our organization, from the front of the house to the back—and every situation in between. This intense, comprehensive program is a fast-paced educational experience that offers opportunities to build relationships with other Morton's managers and our leadership team.
This unique, exciting program includes the following Morton's University Modules:
- Creating the Steakhouse Experience: Explore new and creative ways to improve service by sharing experiences and participating in a series of highly interactive activities and discussions. Topics include genuine hospitality, providing remarkable service and handling guest complaints.
- Morton's Culture and Vision: The president and co-founder of Morton's offer a high-energy presentation to accentuate the culture, mission and core values of the company, and translate them into actions and behaviors that are expected on a daily basis in every Morton's restaurant.
- Staffing Seminar: This interactive session will provide you with all of the instruction and tools you'll need to make good hiring decisions. Learn how to conduct great interviews and select the right people to staff your restaurants. Get tips on key characteristics to look for when hiring people who provide genuine hospitality.
- Product Specification: See firsthand how we offer only the finest products—anywhere, at any time, at any cost.
- Understanding the P&L: Learn how to analyze a Morton's sales report, and ensure profitable results.
- We Value Each Other: This series of discussions and exercises is designed to raise each manager's understanding of their role in creating and maintaining a positive work environment for all Morton's employees.
